There is only one formal qualification related to chimney sweeping – the chimney sweeping NVQ level 2. There are various registrations and association memberships, for example the national association of chimney sweeps, the guild of master chimney sweeps and HETAS. These though are all yearly subscriptions as opposed to qualifications.
At Home Sweep Home we have (currently) the only NVQ qualified chimney sweep in West Sussex (that we know of!). This means our West Sussex chimney sweep is THE ONLY formally qualified chimney sweep in West Sussex. We have both a domestic and commercial NVQ on the books. We’re pretty proud of that.
We also have sweeps working for us who are registered with HETAS as both installers and chimney sweeps, the national association of chimney sweeps, APICS, NCSSA and Sweep Safe (not an association)
